When does a piano need reconditioning or rebuilding?

Because piano wear happens gradually, it is often hard to tell when this is necessary. A well maintained, good quality piano can retain its tone, touch and appearance for fifty years or more. This, of course, is assuming that you have normal maintenance (changing worn felt, repairing strings, taking care of cracks in the wood, etc). Regular cleaning, regulating, voicing and tuning your piano will give you a lifetime of pleasure of your piano.
How often should my piano be tuned or serviced?
Answer:
In the best of circumstances, the cleaning, regulating, voicing and tuning of a piano should be done twice a year. Weather, humidity, moving the piano or other factors will also influence the sound and may require that you have it tuned or serviced more frequently. Do I need a lot of room for a piano?

While most of us think of pianos as being large, they come in many shapes and sizes. The most dramatic are the grand pianos, but even these come in small (baby) and large. When you go to buy a piano, take a measurement of the floor space and the floor to ceiling space you have available. A good piano salesperson will be able to fit you with the right piano for your musical and space needs.

Well, modern automation is the same, although it is now much more sophisticated and almost any piano can be fitted with this system. This modern version of automation is a great way to have live music during dinners, parties or alone. New automation techniques are very sophisticated and allow you to either buy pre-recorded music (in many cases the keys even move) or record your own.
